Retreats: For Small Groups and Individuals |
What is a ‘Retreat?’
‘Thistledown Country Retreat’ is tucked away in the ‘highlands’ near Mt Barney with a Queenslander homestead and a cozy cottage designed to ensure a ‘getaway from it all’ experience where people can re-focus with some life coaching. This is a special place to create life long memories.
Time at Thistledown Country Retreat is about examining what it is that you really want out of being on this planet. Most of us get so busy that we forget what living really is. We define success, rush at it with amazing vigour, self-sacrifice and investment to arrive and find that we are not necessarily happy.
A Retreat is an opportunity to revisit the meaning of life while enjoying the ambience of the Border Ranges and a step back to a candle light dinner in the Federation style homestead.
Forms of Retreat
- Focus Retreat: Two days of examining personal needs, working through the pain in life and establishing a life mission statement and the means to develop the mind set to achieve it.
- Break Through Retreat: Two days in a follow on from Focus usually conducted within three months to explore progress and remove blockages in fear with courage and honour.
- One with Nature Retreat: This retreat is not a mandatory step but it is oriented to those who want to have time alone in the bush. As well as covering personal development, this involves some outdoor activity, safety, and being solo in the bush with an introduction to Australian bushcraft to become one with nature.
- Solo Retreat: Solo is a follow on from the above retreats and is designed to give the skills for maximum autonomy for a safe and truly meaningful but challenging experience. It involves varying lengths of time alone (eight days is best) in silence with daily mentoring to gain a positive, proactive, and energised approach to life. A choice of fully catered venues includes:
- A cottage or equivalent, or
- A tent in the bush, or
- A cave.
